6-SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX

REMOVAL

I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION

• Remove the centre console (see Centre console: Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART CONCERNED

• Unclip:
  • the selector lever cable (1) from the gear control unit by pressing on the brackets (3) ,
  • the selector cable stop (4) from the gear control unit by pulling on the locking bracket (6) ,
  • the cable (2) from the gear control unit gear lever by pressing on the brackets (3) ,
  • the gear lever cable stop (5) from the gear control unit by pulling on the locking bracket (6) .

• Remove:
  • the bolts (7) from the gear control unit,
  • the gear control unit.

REFITTING

I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART CONCERNED

• Refit:
  • the gear control unit,
  • the bolts on the gear control unit.
• Torque tighten the gear control unit bolts (7 N.m).
• Clip:
  • the gear lever cable stop on the gear control unit by pulling on the locking bracket,
  • the gear lever cable on the gear control unit,
  • the selector lever cable stop on the gear control unit by pulling on the locking bracket,
  • the selector lever cable on the gear control unit.

II - FINAL OPERATION.

• Adjust the selector lever cable (see 37A, Mechanical component controls, Mechanical gear control cable: Adjustment, page 37A-84) .
• Refit the centre console (see Centre console: Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).

6-SPEED AUTOMATIC GEARBOX or VARIABLE GEARBOX

REMOVAL

I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION

• Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting) (80A, Battery).
• Remove the centre console (see Centre console: Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART CONCERNED

• Unclip the automatic gearbox control cable (1) from the lever of the gear control unit (2) .

• Unclip:
  • the connector (3) from the gear control unit,
  • the automatic gearbox control cable stop (4) from the gear control unit.
• Move aside the automatic gearbox control cable.

• Remove:
  • the gear control unit bolts (5) ,
  • the gear control unit.

REFITTING

I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART CONCERNED

• Refit:
  • the gear control unit.
  • the gear control unit bolts,
• Torque tighten the gear control unit bolts (6 N.m).
• Clip:
  • the automatic gearbox control cable stop onto the gear control unit,
  • the connector onto the gear control unit.

• Clip:
  • the automatic gearbox control cable onto the gear control unit lever by positioning the ribbed side (6) upwards,
  • the automatic gearbox control cable stop onto the gear control unit.

II - FINAL OPERATION

• Refit the centre console (see Centre console: Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).
• Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting) (80A, Battery).
