IMPORTANT
During this operation, be sure to:
- refrain from smoking or bringing red hot objects
close to the working area,
- be careful of fuel splashes when disconnecting the
union.

Wear goggles with side protectors for this operation. |
IMPORTANT
Wear leaktight gloves (Nitrile type) for this operation. |
CHECK
I - CHECK PREPARATION OPERATION
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift .
- Remove the air inlet sleeve .
- Remove the cover (1) from the Protection and
Switching Unit.
- Remove the fuse (2) of the fuel pump (F13) (15A).
- Relieve the pressure of the fuel on the fuel supply
pipe after the engine has started.
Note:
After switching the engine off, start it again two or
three times to fully relieve the fuel pressure. |
- Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the air resonator located on the rocker cover.
- Remove the plug of the fuel supply union.
- Disconnect the quick-release union (3) using the tool
(Mot. 1869) (4) .
Note:
Insert the (Mot. 1869) (4) on the second retainer
(5) . |
II - FUEL PRESSURE CHECKING STAGE
- Connect:
- the fuel pressure checking kit (Adapter D) (Mot.1863),
- the fuel pressure checking kit (Mot. 1311-01).
- Refit the fuse (2) of the fuel pump (F13) (15A).
Note:
It may take a few seconds to obtain a correct
injector rail pressure reading. |
Note:
If the result is unsatisfactory, check that the
hoses and the fuel supply pipes are not
obstructed.
If there is no fault in the hoses and the tubes,
replace the fuel filter assembly. |
III - FINAL OPERATION.
- Remove the fuse of the fuel pump (F13) (15A).
- Relieve the pressure of the fuel on the fuel supply
pipe after the engine has started.
Note:
After switching the engine off, start it again two or
three times to fully relieve the fuel pressure. |
- Disconnect:
- the fuel pressure checking kit (Mot. 1311-01),
- the fuel pressure checking kit (Adapter D) (Mot.1863).
- Connect the quick-release union (A) .
Note:
Connect the quick-release union (A) on part (B) .
Then check the connection by pulling on part (A)

(C) Direction of the fuel supply pipe
(D) Direction of the injector rail
- Refit:
- the plug of the fuel supply union,
- the air resonator located on the rocker cover ,
- the engine cover,
- the fuse (2) of the fuel pump (F13)(15A),
- the Protection and Switching Unit cover.
- Refit the air intake sleeve.
