The oil-water heat exchanger is not sold separately by
the Parts Department. To replace it, it is necessary to
replace the oil filter unit.

IMPORTANT Wear heat protective gloves during the operation. |
Note:
Be careful not to burn yourself; the engine oil and
coolant can be very hot. |
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
IMPORTANT To prevent the vehicle from falling, lash it to
the
vehicle lift using a strap. |
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift
- Remove:
- the front right-hand wheel
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner
- the engine undertray.
- Drain the coolant:
- Open the radiator drain plug (1) located at the bottom
of the radiator, then remove the radiator cap.
Note:
Let the coolant run into a drain tray. |
- Remove the engine coolant drain plug (2) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
- Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connector.
- Remove:
- the oil pressure sensor (3) ,
- the bolts (4) of the oil-water heat exchanger,
- the seal (5) of the oil-water heat exchanger,
- the hose clips (6) .
- Disconnect the hoses (7) of the oil-water heat exchanger.
- Remove the oil-water heat exchanger.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
- Always replace the seal of the oil-water heat exchanger.
- Use SUPER RELEASING AGENT to clean:
- the threading of the engine coolant drain plug,
- the threading of the oil pressure sensor.
- Apply a SILICONE ADHESIVE SEALANT to:
- the threading of the engine coolant drain plug (2) ,
- the threading of the oil pressure sensor (3) .
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Connect the hoses to the oil-water heat exchanger.
- Refit:
- the hose clips,
- the new oil-water heat exchanger seal,
- the oil-water heat exchanger,
- the bolts of the oil-water heat exchanger,
- the oil pressure sensor.
- Torque tighten:
- the oil-water heat exchanger bolts (22 N.m),
- the oil pressure sensor (15 N.m).
- Connect the oil pressure sensor connector.
III - FINAL OPERATION
- Refit:
- the engine drain plug (2) ,
- the radiator drain plug (1) .
- Torque tighten:
- the engine drain plug (10 N.m),
- the radiator drain plug (2 N.m).
- Refit:
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner
- the front right-hand wheel
- Check the engine oil level
- Top up the engine oil if necessary
- Fill the cooling circuit
- Bleed the cooling circuit
- Refit the engine undertray.
