REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift
- Disconnect the battery
- Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the engine undertray.
- Drain the engine cooling circuit
- Remove the engine cooling fan assembly
- Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connector.

- Disconnect the alternator connector (1) .
- Remove:
- the nut (2) from the alternator positive terminal.
- the alternator positive terminal wiring.
AIR CONDITIONING 01 or AIR CONDITIONING 02

- Disconnect the connector (3) from the air conditioning
compressor.

- Unclip the wiring at (4) .
- Move aside the wiring.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED

- Remove:
- the clamp (5) from the oil filter unit coolant outlet
union using the (Mot. 1448),
- the clamp (6) from the oil filter unit coolant inlet
union using the (Mot. 1448).
- Disconnect the oil filter unit coolant inlet union hose.

- Remove the bolts (7) from the oil filter unit.
- Disconnect the oil filter unit coolant outlet union
hose.
- Remove the oil filter unit.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
- Always replace the oil filter unit seal.
WARNING The joint faces must be clean, dry and free from
grease (avoid finger marks). |
Note:
The oil pressure sensor must be replaced if it is
removed. |
- Clean:
- the cylinder block gasket face,
- the oil filter unit seal housing if being reused.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Refit a new oil filter unit seal.
- Connect the coolant outlet union hose to the oil filter
unit.

- Refit:
- the oil filter unit,
- the oil filter unit bolts.
- Torque tighten in order:
- the oil filter unit bolts (initial torque) (5 N.m) (2)
and (4) ,
- the oil filter unit bolts (25 N.m).
- Connect the coolant inlet union hose to the oil filter
unit.
- Refit:
- the clamp from the oil filter unit coolant outlet union
using the (Mot. 1448),
- the clamp from the oil filter unit coolant inlet union
using the (Mot. 1448).
III - FINAL OPERATION
- Clip on the wiring at (4) .
AIR CONDITIONING 01 or AIR CONDITIONING 02
- Connect the air conditioning compressor connector.
- Refit:
- the alternator positive terminal wiring,
- the alternator positive terminal nut.
- Torque tighten the alternator positive terminal nut
(10 N.m).
- Connect:
- the alternator connector,
- the oil pressure sensor connector.
- Refit the engine cooling fan assembly
- Connect the battery
- Fill the engine cooling system
- Bleed the engine cooling system
- Refit:
- the engine undertray,
- the engine cover.
