REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Set the wheels straight ahead.
IMPORTANT
To prevent the pyrotechnic components from
being permanently deactivated or triggered (airbags
or pretensioners), wait for at least 3 min
after disconnecting the battery. |
- Disconnect the battery (see 80A, Battery, Battery:
Removal - Refitting, page 80A-3) .
- Remove:
- the driver's front airbag (see 88C, Air bag and Pretensioners,
Driver's frontal airbag: Removal -
Refitting, page 88C-10) ,
- the steering wheel (see Steering wheel: Removal
- Refitting) (36A, Steering assembly),
- the rotary switch. (see 84A, Control - Signals, Rotary
switch: Removal - Refitting, page 84A-2)
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
- Disconnect the steering column switch assembly
connectors (1) .
- Remove the steering column switch assembly by
pulling it in the direction of the arrow (2) .
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
- Always replace the steering wheel nut.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Refit the steering column switch assembly.
- Connect the steering column switch assembly connectors.
III - FINAL OPERATION.
- Refit:
- the rotary switch (see 84A, Control - Signals, Rotary
switch: Removal - Refitting, page 84A-2) ,
- the steering wheel (see Steering wheel: Removal
- Refitting) (36A, Steering assembly),
- the driver's front airbag (see 88C, Air bag and Pretensioners,
Driver's frontal airbag: Removal -
Refitting, page 88C-10) .
- Connect the battery (see 80A, Battery, Battery: Removal
- Refitting, page 80A-3) .
