LIGHTS + AUTOMATIC WINDSCREEN WIPER
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Remove the covers from the interior rear-view mirror
(see Interior rear-view mirror: Removal - Refitting)
(57A, Interior equipment).
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
1 - Replacing the rain and light sensor
- Disconnect the rain and light sensor connector (1) .
- Unclip the two side clips (2) from the rain and light
sensor (3) using a small flat-blade screwdriver,
- Separate the rain and light sensor from its mounting.
2 - Replacing the windscreen
Note:
The rain and light sensor mounting is supplied
with the new windscreen; remove only the rain
and light sensor. |
- Disconnect the connector at (4) .
- Unclip:
- the two side clips (5) from the rain and light sensor
mounting using a small flat-blade screwdriver,
- the clips (6) from the printed circuit of the rain and
light sensor.
- Remove the rain and light sensor printed circuit (7)
from the rain and light sensor cover (8) .
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
WARNING
The rain sensor must be removed and refitted
under conditions of extreme cleanliness: any
dust or fibres may cause a fault. Do not touch the
electronic part of the sensor. Fit the sensor to the
vehicle immediately after removing it from its
packaging. |
- On the inside of the windscreen, clean the inside of
the sensor mounting.
- Clean the outside of the windscreen in the area covered
by the rain and light sensor.
- Always replace the new adhesive base with the cover
of the new rain and light sensor when replacing
the windscreen.
Note:
The audible locking of the side clips fixing the
rain and light sensor onto its mounting on the
windscreen confirm that it is correctly held and
positioned. |
Note:
To avoid damaging the adhesive base, do not
turn the rain and light sensor once it is positioned
on the windscreen. |
1 - Replacing the rain and light sensor
- Fit the rain and light sensor onto the mounting.
- Clip the two side clips (2) onto the rain and light sensor
mounting.
- Connect the connector for the rain and light sensor.
2 - Replace the windscreen
- Position:
- the new adhesive base with the new rain and light
sensor cover (9) in the rain and light sensor mounting
(10) ,
- the rain and light sensor printed circuit (7) onto the
rain and light sensor cover.
- Clip on:
- the clips (6) of the rain and light sensor printed circuit
onto the rain and light sensor cover,
- the two side clips (5) onto the rain and light sensor
mounting.
- Connect the connector for the rain and light sensor.
III - FINAL OPERATION
- Refit the covers of the interior rear-view mirror (see
Interior rear-view mirror: Removal - Refitting)
(57A, Interior equipment).
- Carry out an operating test:
- select automatic wiping mode,
- spray droplets of water onto the windscreen within
the sensor detection area,
- check that the automatic wiping function is operating
correctly.
