REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(80A, Battery).
- Remove:
- the dashboard lower cover on the driver's side (see
Dashboard: Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior
equipment),
- the A pillar air distribution duct (see Front footwell
air distribution duct: Removal - Refitting) ,(61A,
Heating).
LEFT-HAND DRIVE
- the left-hand trim on the centre panel (see Centre
console lower front panel: Removal - Refitting)
(59A, Interior equipment),
- the brake - accelerator pedal assembly (see 37A,
Mechanical component controls, Accelerator
and brake pedal assembly: Removal - Refitting,
page 37A-23) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
CRUISE CONTROL
- Remove:
- the brake light switch (1) by rotating it a quarter turn
anticlockwise,
- the brake switch (2) by rotating it a quarter turn anticlockwise.
WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL
- Remove the brake light switch (3) by rotating it a
quarter turn anticlockwise.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Position the brake pedal switches.
- Press on the brake pedal switches (4) until the end
of the piston touches the rubber stop (5) .
- Rotate the brake pedal switches a quarter of a turn
clockwise.
- Measure the dimension (A) between the rubber stop
and the end of the piston.
- Adjust the dimension (A) between 0.74 mm and
1.96 mm.
II - FINAL OPERATION.
LEFT-HAND DRIVE
- Refit:
- the brake - accelerator pedal assembly (see 37A,
Mechanical component controls, Accelerator
and brake pedal assembly: Removal - Refitting,
page 37A-23) ,
- the left-hand trim on the centre panel (see Centre
console lower front panel: Removal - Refitting)
(59A, Interior equipment).
- Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(80A, Battery).
- Check that the brake light switch is operating correctly:
- depress the brake pedal to switch on the lights,
- release the brake pedal to switch off the lights.
- Refit:
- the A pillar air distribution duct (see Front footwell
air distribution duct: Removal - Refitting) ,(61A,
Heating),
- the dashboard lower cover on the driver's side (see
Dashboard: Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior
equipment).
