of the particle filter
REFITTING
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift.
- Disconnect the battery.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
1 - Downstream temperature sensor
- Remove:
- the downstream temperature sensor insulation
bolts (3) ,
- the downstream temperature sensor insulation (4) .
- Remove the bolt and the nut (5) of the downstream
temperature sensor mounting.
- Unclip the downstream temperature sensor mounting
(6) .
- Disconnect the particle filter downstream temperature
sensor connector (7) .
- Unclip the wiring at (8) .
- Remove the particle filter downstream temperature
sensor union (9) from its adapter welded to the particle
filter.
2 - Upstream temperature sensor.
- Remove the particle filter.
- Remove the particle filter upstream temperature
sensor union (10) from its adapter welded to the particle
filter.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
- Check the condition of the temperature sensor wiring.
Note:
If necessary, replace the particle filter temperature
sensor wiring. |
- Coat the particle filter downstream temperature sensor
bolt union with COPPER-ALUMINIUM LUBRICANT.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
1 - Upstream temperature sensor.
- Refit the upstream temperature sensor to its adapter.
- Torque tighten the particle filter upstream temperature
sensor union (30 N.m).
- Refit the particle filter.
2 - Downstream temperature sensor
- Refit the downstream temperature sensor to its
adapter.
- Torque tighten the particle filter downstream temperature
sensor union (30 N.m).
- Connect the downstream temperature sensor connector.
- Clip on the downstream temperature sensor wiring
at (8) .
- Refit the downstream temperature sensor mounting.
- Torque tighten the downstream temperature sensor
mounting bolt (4 N.m).
- Refit the downstream temperature sensor insulator.
- Torque tighten the downstream temperature sensor
insulation bolts (6 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION.
- Connect the battery.
- Check that there are no faults using the Diagnostic
tool.
